COVID UPDATE

The CPGA statement of 16th March remains in place.
Whilst we understand all want to get back in the boat, currently it is still not the time to do so. Within the gig you are unable to social distance (please remember a gig is a 6 oared, coxed boat), health and hygiene along with many other issues to consider.
We are monitoring the situation and guidance that is being issue

CPGA WEEKLY UPDATE

Over the last few weeks the secretary@cpga.co.uk has had a few issues sending emails. Don’t worry all have been sent via a backup and receiving hasn’t been an issue.
So, in order to make sure that all club secretaries and 2nd CPGA contacts receive the email on a Sunday we are going to revert back to mail chimp.
Previously contacts reported not seeing the email via this method. Mail chimp has changed since our last time of using and we are able to monitor in more detail. In addition all updates can be found on the CPGA website. Therefore, if you need a pdf copy, simply visit the website and download.

MEMBERSHIP WITHIN CLUBS

A number of clubs have asked ‘What are other clubs doing about club membership this year?’
From discussion and email exchange with clubs, there are many different approaches. Listed are some approaches that have been taken:

No refund, no one has asked.
Members have been happy for the club to keep their membership fee for 2020, knowing that this will support the club through a time when there is no fundraising.
Some are doing membership pro-rata.
Some extending the length of membership.
Some are refunding for those who are asking.
If your clubs has done something different and you are happy to share, please send the info in.

IOS ENRTY FEE

Note from the IOS World Pilot Gig Championship Committee – ‘We are working out way down the list. It takes time because, as we don’t take car payments, account details have to be checked and the refund authorised. However, if you haven’t already received yours, please don’t worry – you will. Best wishes and we hope to see you next year’.

RETURN OF GIGS FROM IOS 2020

The final two gigs will return this week from the Isles of Scilly.
All has been smooth and all clubs whose gigs have been on the islands have been grateful to get their boats home. Thanks to the IOSSC, Justin on the Islands and towers who have collected and followed the necessary requirements to make it all happen.

CLUB MATTERS WEBSITE – USEFUL RESOURCES

During this time, we are all having to adapt to a new ‘normal’.
Take a look at the resources that you can find on the Club Matters website, these might be useful to your club. Below are only a couple of examples:

Some clubs have mentioned AGMs being caught in the lockdown. Take a look at this resource.
Emergency financial planning, we are all aware that this is having an effect on income for clubs, but what is the true cost.
GRANT – CORONAVIRUS

Many clubs have been successful at applying for emergency grants, so if you haven’t applied, do have a look and see which are applicable to your club’s situation.

Check out the list of grant funders. There is quite a list here, so please do have a read through and see what ones are specific to your particular club/situation/area.

Also continue to monitor your local ‘Active Partnership’ as they have signposting for local info as well as national. All information regarding grant funding can be found on the Covid-19 webpage.

Please note that the Sport England Emergency fund is currently on a temporary pause to new applications.

RECYCLING INKJET AND TONER CARTRIDGES

Thanks to all those who are continuing to recycle to the benefit of the environment and the CPGA, with potentially more people working from home, there may be more items ready for recycling.

Anyone who hasn’t yet, here is a great opportunity to recycle an item that most homes, offices etc have.
Please read the following and where possible, spread the word about recycling for the CPGA.
